The Nile Project kicked off again in late January full speed with our 2 month, 6 nation East Africa tour and residency, lasting through Mid March. Directly there after, I traveled to work with composer Khaled Mouzannar and director Nadine Labaki for a live music / screening of her 2 highly successful films, “caramel” and “where do we go now,” the later of which I playing several instruments on and some music supervision.
April and May were highly concentrated times in Cairo and Oslo, finishing the production on Egyptian Vocalist Dina El Wedidi’s new album, scheduled to come out in Oct 2014 on the Norwegian Label KKV. I produced, co arranged with Nancy Mounir, and played Contrabass, Buzuk, Lyra, Inanga, and some simple percussion on the album. I loved working with these talented musicians, and am looking forward to the release!
Im currently preparing music for a new project of my own I hope to launch this december in the San Francisco Bay area. More to come!
